Arthur Evans

Original video footage of Arthur Evans and the 1971 Gay Activist Alliance zap at the NY Marriage License Bureau. As a Brown University student Evans founded the Brown Freethinkers Society describing themselves as “militant atheists” seeking to combat the harmful effects of organized religion. He led the successful activist campaign to overturn the University’s required chapel attendance.
